Peacher's Sound Bytes

Yo, whats up everyone? I’m back for my 3rd column. I just went to concert down at the Nation in the ghetto of DC. Minus the fact that 75 percent of the people there were under the age of 18, it was a lot of fun. I went and saw, New Found Glory, Finch, Something Corporate and Further Seems Forever. Further seems forever was the opening band (if u don’t know, Chris from Dashboard used to play with them) and they need to get chris back cause their new lead singer sucks. Then something corporate came on and got the crowd going, they are coming back to DC in Feb., go see them. Finch was next, and they also put on a good show for the crowd, the pit got a little out of control during these guys, especially during the screaming. Finally New Found Glory came out and just blazed through an hour and a half set. New Found Glory is a great live band, if you’ve never seen them before, then you have to see them. Oh yeah and did u see the video for the Jenny from the Block? Wow, J.LO looks so hot.

Rap/techno/party music...

Ja Rule w/ Bobby Brown - Thug Lovin
What’s the deal with Murder Inc? They seem to collaborate with everyone, first they get NAS to join their crew, not bobby brown? This collaboration has been in planning for about 6 months. (remember Bobby and Whitney in the Down 4 you video) and its finally out

50 cent w/ Biggie - Niggaz
This song was all over mix tapes in New York. It pairs an old Biggie Recording with Eminem’s protégé 50 cent.

Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Armen van Buren Remix)
This song is a very chill trance song. If you don’t like trance music, then you won’t like. If you like trance music, this song is a song for you. This song has a very slow but addicting beat.

Craig David - Fast Cars
This European Superstar just came out with his second album, Slicker Than Your Average. It’s pretty good although I don’t feel it has the catchiness that his first album had. However, this song is the best of the album and its worth your time to download it.

Song of the Week to download:

Missy Elliot w 50 cent and Joe Budden - Work it Remix
I know that I recommend songs with 50 cent a lot, but right now he seems to be all over remixes. Joe Budden with featured on a 3rd storee song that I recommended last week. This song takes the great beat of the original version of Work It and makes it better.

Rock...

Thursday - Jet Black New Year
This song was previously unreleased. Its going to be on their new upcoming EP which will also feature 4 live songs from this years warped tour. This song is a bit of a progression for Thursday as it’s a little bit more hardcore, even for Thursday

O.A.R. - Short a try

This song is performed solo by O.A.R.’s lead singer, Marc Roberge. If you have their live cd (any time now), it’s the hidden song on the first cd. If you don’t have the live cd, then download this song anyway, it’s beautiful.

Dave Matthews Band - Bartender(live in boulder version)
This version of Bartender off DMB’s new live album titled ‘Live in Boulder” is by far the best version of this song I have ever heard. If you like DMB, you will love this version. Dave’s passion on this song is unlike I have ever seen.

New Found Glory - Scraped Knees
I cannot go this week without recommending an NFG song after the show that I saw last night. This song is very rare, it was off one of their first EP’s and it was one of the first songs they ever wrote and played as a band. It’s a great song and hopefully they will re-record it one day.

Song of the Week to Download:

Carlos Santana w/ Michelle Branch - Game of Love
I know this song has been out for a while but if you don’t have it, then you need to download it now. It combines everything that is great about Carlos Santana (his music) which is depending on your opinion great about Michelle Branch (her pop quality). This song is a perfect example of why Santana has been around for all these years.
